Partial Day Absences: LATE ARRIVALS

On the day the student arrives late, the parent/guardian is to call to report the late arrival prior to the student's arrival at school.

LEAVING SCHOOL EARLY

Cupertino is a closed campus. Students must check out through the attendance office unless they leave during lunch time.

If a student needs to leave for any reason, parent/guardian consent is required prior to leaving, and the student must receive an off-campus pass from the attendance office before leaving. Passes may be picked up at brunch, lunch and between classes. If the student becomes ill during the day and needs to leave, the student must report to the attendance office and a call will be made to the parent/guardian before the school will release the student to leave campus.

FORMAT FOR CALLING:

I am calling in a (full/partial day) absence. The student's ID # is __________; the name (spell last name); grade level; date(s) of the absence is _____ ; reason (illness, medical appointment, family emergency, or unexcused.) I am the student's (parent/guardian) and I can be reached at (daytime phone#).

ABSENCES NOT CLEARED WITHIN TWO DAYS WILL BE CONSIDERED UNEXCUSED.

If you received a call from the automated system and your student was not absent, please have your student speak with the teacher.
