ABBY SYWE AWARDED CCS Joyce Ridgway scholarship!
Girls Basketball Captain Abby Sywe was awarded one of CCS's highest honors with the JOYCE RIDGWAY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP! The CCS honors only one Central Coast Section female student athlete each year. So it goes without saying that we are very proud of Abby! Congratulations Abby!
“Joyce Ridgway served as a leader in the development of Women's sports in the CCS and CIF from her position as Assistant Commissioner of the Central Coast Section. Due to her tireless determination and dedication to enhancing and expanding the opportunities for girls in sport an annual scholarship is offered to a deserving female senior student-athlete. "Abby Sywe has been a four year varsity athlete for CHS Girls Basketball, and a three year varsity starter. She is the unquestioned leader of our program. She exemplifies team work, hard work, and dedication to the sport of basketball. I cannot recall a player that has ever worked harder for her teammates than Abby Swye, repeatedly making mental and physical sacrifices on and off the court. She is a leader in every sense of the word and fully deserves to represent Cupertino as CHS Season MVP." -Coach Williams

ASHLEY PARK RECEIVES WINTER SEASON - JUNIOR MVP!!!
Congratulations! Ashley Park received Junior MVP for the 2010/2011 Winter Sports Season!
"Ashley is a 3 year varsity basketball member here at Cupertino High School. She came to Cupertino as a happy go lucky freshman with a knack for getting to the basket. Ashley has matured into a team leader who is not afraid to have the ball in her hands in the big moments. As a co-captain this season, she has displayed a wide variety of ball handling and scoring skills night after night. She scored a season high 21 points vs Los Altos and also had 5 blocked shots. With opposing coaches game planning specifically to stop Ashley Park, she is quickly becoming one of the best and most respected players in the SCVAL. She is a real joy to coach! I look forward to her senior season!" -Coach Williams

Angela Li Receives February Athelete of the Month!!!
Congratulations Angela!
"Angela Li worked extremely hard this off season in order to prepare herself for her senior year. Having already recovered from knee surgery her sophomore year, she was determined to finish her career on a high note. Angela was starting to round into peak performance towards the end of non-league when she suffered a knee sprain in the same reconstructed knee. Determined not to let her season slip away, she bounced back from the injury and was able to reclaim her spot in the starting lineup. Angela battled through the mental and physical pain that would have probably put most other athletes on the shelf. Her hard work, passion for the game, and scoring was an important part of our team's ability to fight in every single game. We are very happy she could finish her senior season at Tino!" -Coach Williams
