Safe Routes to School

We know that it can be intimidating to have your student ride their bike to school with the traffic coming to Cupertino High School. We want to help teach safe bike travel to school, so we're setting up six Bike Bus rides (group rides with experienced leaders) from various points in our community. These Bike Bus rides will be on Tuesday, August 11 before New Student Orientation. 

This will be a great time to orient your child to getting to campus with a fraction of the traffic. Students can also get to know each other which will encourage them to ride together to school during the year. Studies show that students that bike or walk to school do better academically and socially. It also teaches them to be more independent and frees up parents from pickup and dropoff duty. Plus it's great for the planet!

There will be six routes:

1. West: Meeting Location: Cupertino Library. Stop 1: Wilson Park. Stop 2: Creekside Park.
2. Northwest: Meeting Location: Portal Park. Stop 1: Wilson Park. Stop 2: Creekside Park.
3. North: Meeting Location: Westwood Oaks Park. Stop 1: Apple Visitor Center.
4. Northeast A: Meeting Location: Harbor Freight Tools Parking Lot (Return Bus available for this location due to a different recommended route home)
5. Northeast B: Meeting Location: AAA Office @ Loma Linda. Stop 1: Harbor Freight Tools Parking Lot (Return Bus available for this location due to a different recommended route home)
6. East: Meeting Location: John Mise Park. Stop 1: Sterling Barnhart Park
