New Student Enrollment Procedures

All new incoming students, whether from private schools or other school districts, must register at the Fremont Union High School District's Enrollment Residency Office (589 W. Fremont Avenue in Sunnyvale, CA). Please visit the Enrollment Residency Office webpage for more information. Mandarin and Spanish speaking staff are available to assist you if needed.

Once assigned to Cupertino High School, the School Registrar, Judy Lim, will process the enrollment packet and the Data Technician, Rosalba Hernandez, will send the electronic Emergency & Zero Tolerance Forms to parents/guardians.

The alpha-Guidance Counselor will create a course schedule and distribute it to the new student after the emergency and zero tolerance forms have been submitted.

The student will be led on a tour of the campus to complete the following:

  • Associated Student Body (ASB) Office: Student will take a photo for their student identification card and purchase PE uniforms if needed.
  • Student Conduct Liaison: Review Zero Tolerance policies.
  • PE Facilities (If needed for physical education class)
  • Library: Register for school wide online resource tools.
  • Cafeteria: Information regarding food payment system (including free/reduced lunch)

The student will begin classes as designated on their class schedule.

Course Selection Nights

8th Grade (incoming 9th grade) Course Selection

8th Grade Course Selection Nights (General Education) from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. in CHS Theater

Welcome to Cupertino High School.  We look forward to having you join the 'Tino community next year. Please mark your calendars for our upcoming Guidance and Course Selection Night. This is a mandatory night for parents and students to learn about CHS and all course offerings for freshman year. We will also be providing information about athletics, music, and each of our elective departments. Note: if the Residency Verification is complete, students will choose courses for next year at this time.

Due to the large crowds, we will be holding FOUR sessions and ask you to come on one night based on the first letter of  your student’s last name. The Guidance Counselor for each alpha group will be introduced on the assigned night.  Additionally, we ask that only the parent(s) and incoming student attend.  Due to limited seating, we cannot accommodate siblings.
