Course Selection

General Information

The CHS Course Selection Guide provides valuable information on course descriptions by department, college admissions testing, guidance and planning, and educational options.

For the 2023-24 school year, students and parents/guardians will be accessing instructional videos and assignments in Schoology.

Course Verification

The Course Verification process allows students and their families to make any changes in their course selections from February. This process takes place April 3-7. 

April 3: Parents/Guardians will receive an email from Informed K12. Please read the content of the document carefully. 

April 7: Deadline to submit the Course Verification form. After this date, no changes can be made.

FUHSD Graduation Requirements

A student must earn a minimum 220 units, meeting specific course and subject area requirements, in order to receive a high school diploma:

Students must complete 10 credits each in two (2) of the following three (3) areas:

  • Applied Academics: Career Technical Education, Business, Computer Science, Industrial Technology, Living Skills, Work Experience
  • Visual/Performing Arts: Art, Music, Theatre Arts
  • World Languages: Chinese, French, Japanese, Spanish
