What is Grad Night?
Grad Night is a Cupertino High tradition—it is an all-night party exclusively for graduating seniors. It is an awesome celebration of this milestone in their lives. This year, Grad Night will take place at Mission Peak Sportsplex in Fremont and is supervised by both parent volunteers and Mission Peak Sportsplex staff. Grad Night gives our grads an extraordinary experience and also a chance to celebrate with their friends in a fun, safe and sober environment.
What is the location, date and time of Grad Night?
Grad Night will be held the night after graduation on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 9:30 pm - 5:00 am. The students will check-in at 9:30 pm and load onto private charter buses to travel to Fremont. Mission Peak Sportsplex is open exclusively for CHS Seniors from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am. At 4:00 am, the students will load back onto their buses, depart by 4:30 am, and arrive back to the CHS parking lot around 5:00 am - depending on traffic.
Why isn't Grad Night after the Graduation Ceremony on June 5?
The reason Grad Night isn't scheduled right after the Graduation Ceremony on June 5 is to allow students more time to celebrate with their families. When Grad Night is held on the same night as the ceremony, students often have limited time to spend with their loved ones before needing to check in for the event. By moving Grad Night to Friday night, students will have the opportunity to enjoy their graduation with their families without feeling rushed. This change aims to create a more relaxed and meaningful experience for both students and their families.
Who can come to Grad Night?
All CHS graduating seniors are invited to attend. No other visitors may attend from other years at Cupertino, or from other high schools.
How much does it cost?
The earlier you buy, the cheaper it is.
- $150 from July - August 2024
- $175 from September - December 2024
- $200 from January - June 2025
All of the ticket price goes toward the Mission Peak Sportsplex, transportation, food, and activities. The earlier you buy, the earlier we know how much money we have to spend on food and activities (many of which need to be booked months in advance), so purchasing your ticket early ensures that your child can enjoy more fun and variety.
What does the price of a ticket include?
- Bus transportation to and from the event
- Food and drinks all night long
- All games and activities (including rock climbing, arcades, casino, photo booths, karaoke, DJ/dancing, virtual simulators, and much much more!)
Why are ticket prices so high?
As you probably know, there has been tremendous inflation, and the cost of everything (food, drinks, vendor fees, etc.) has gone up. Please be assured that the full amount you pay is going towards the event to ensure that this will be an amazing and memorable experience for your child.
What is your refund policy?
There are no refunds. We spend all of the money we collect from ticket sales so we are unable to refund money if you change your mind or cannot make it to Grad Night.
What happens if Grad Night is canceled?
Covid years are an exception. If Grad Night is canceled, we will refund 75% of your ticket price. Unfortunately, since we have to put down deposits with many of the vendors, we are not able to refund 100% of your money.
What happens to all of the money you’ve spent on deposits and purchases if Grad Night is canceled?
Some vendors are willing to hold our deposits and apply them to the following year’s Grad Night. Some will not. It is completely at the discretion of the vendor. Any non-perishable purchases made will be saved and used for the following year’s Grad Night.
What if my student wants to arrive after 9:30 pm or leave before 4:00 am?
Private transportation is not allowed. However, in the event that a student becomes ill or is requested to leave the premises immediately, a parent will be contacted to pick up their child in Fremont. There are no exceptions. If a student must leave prior to 4:00 am, the parent must contact the Grad Night Committee prior to the event to discuss the reason to see if this can be permitted. This holds true to those over 18 as well – this is in accordance with our insurance policy and is non-negotiable.
What happens if a student does not follow the rules or acts inappropriately while at Grad Night?
There is a zero tolerance policy, and a parent will be called to pick up the student immediately.
What may students bring?
We discourage students from bringing anything other than their phone and what they are wearing. There’s no need to bring a water bottle or any food, as all food and drinks will be provided. If necessary, students may bring one (1) clear gallon-sized Ziploc bag of personal belongings, subject to inspection at check-in. Any items that are not school-appropriate will be confiscated. If you decide to bring a Ziploc bag, please label it clearly with your full name and phone number.
How can parents/families help?
You may have noticed that we organize a lot of fundraisers, and that’s because we need to raise a lot of money to run the Grad Night event. Please consider donating directly at https://tinyurl.com/2024GradDonation
Double the impact of your donation! Many employers match your donations to a non-profit. Any donations to the Cupertino High School Grad Night Boosters (tax ID: 77-0395594) are tax deductible and eligible for match by your employer.
