Senior Activities & Graduation

Cupertino High School will celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2019 in June.

Grad Night

Grad Night is a Cupertino High tradition—it is an all night party exclusively for graduating seniors. It is an awesome celebration of this milestone in their lives. Grad night takes place on the Cupertino High School campus and is supervised by parents. Grad Night is a preferred choice to unsupervised parties where underage drinking may occur. Grad Night gives our grads an extraordinary alternative to these types of parties and provides a safe and very fun alternative.

Grad Night 2019 will take place on June 6, 2019 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Frequently Asked Questions about Grad Night

Who can come to Grad Night?

All CHS graduating seniors are invited to attend. No other visitors may attend from other years at Cupertino, or from other high schools.

How much does it cost to attend Grad Night?

The earlier you buy, the cheaper that Grad Night tickets are (as low as $80). A discount of $10 per ticket is offered when two or more orders are submitted together by May 31 (except on Pioneer Day). Staple or mail together.

  • $90 the first week of school (August 14-18)
  • $100 from Aug 19 through Mar 2 ($90 each with one or more friends)
  • $120 from Mar 3 through May 30 ($110 each with one or more friends)
  • $150 on May 31 (the date of Grad Night – no discounts/can only pay at door)

All of the ticket cost goes toward the party, but if students sign up late in the year, it will be carried over to next year’s party. Signing up early means that your ticket money goes directly to this year's party so your child can enjoy more fun and variety.

What is the refund policy?

We will spend every penny to make this a great party, so we cannot offer refunds.

What is the location, date and time of Grad Night?

Grad Night will take place in the Cupertino High School quad, cafe and gym on May 31 from 10 p.m. to June 1 at 5 a.m. The quad and some of the indoor areas are transformed into a great party space with much to offer, including prizes, games, food and so much more.

What does the price of a ticket include?

Activities differ from year to year. Recent Grad Night activities have included many activities, including: Zipline, climbing wall, Segways, mechanical bull, miniature golf, casino (chips provided, no cash), video arcade games, carnival games, karaoke, chess challenge, human foosball, giant Twister, ping pong, air hockey, bocce ball, henna tattoos, caricature artists, photo booth, many photo opportunities. There is something for everyone!

Also included in the price of the ticket are unlimited food, soft drinks, and an exclusive CHS alumni T-shirt, as well as the chance to win a wide assortment of great prizes! There is no need to bring any money to the party. It’s all included.

Note: The earlier we sell tickets, the earlier we can reserve the best activities. We would love to add more fun activities (giant hamster balls, inflatables, racing tricycles, etc.) but it all depends on how many tickets we sell in time to reserve these items. If we do not receive the ticket money until the day of the party, we will not be able to add additional items and the money would be rolled over to the next year's class. If you sign up early, you will get the benefit of your ticket money.

Do students have to arrive exactly at 10 p.m.?

Students may come to Grad Night anytime between 10 and 11 p.m. We will call parents if a student has registered and has not arrived by 11:30 p.m. to be sure parents know they are safe.

Can students leave Grad Night at any time?

Cupertino has a curfew so we cannot allow students to be released without parental consent before 5 a.m. However, the parent who signed the registration form may come and check out their student at any time. Once the student has left the party they will not be allowed to return. There are no in and out privileges. Sorry, this holds true to those over 18 as well – this is according to our insurance policy and is non-negotiable.

If Grad Night is run by parents, does that mean I have to help for my grad to attend?

Parent participation is not required for students to attend, however, Grad Night takes a lot of people so we very much welcome help. Many parents say that their student will not want them there. Please keep in mind that there is much work to be done prior to the party and also, work shifts during the party are not for the whole night. Parents who work at the party are stationed in one place – there is PLENTY of room for their student to go and not even see them. If you are interested in helping at any level, please send a message to CHSgradnight2018@gmail.com. Thank you for your help!
